David Beckham may have bounced from Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2003, but his love for his former team never died.

The world-famous midfielder would not join Everton on loan because he remains a “fan” of Man U, according to LiverpoolEcho.co.uk.

“No,” he said, when asked if he’d go to Everton in January. “I’m a Manchester United fan and Everton is too close to home.”

Beckham, 35, has been rumored to be involved in a transfer from the L.A. Galaxy of the MLS to the Premier League. His last two loans sent him to Milan.
