Fan Forum: Will Cam Neely's Comments Inspire the Bruins to Play Better? You’re not alone, Bruins fans. Team president Cam Neely feels your pain. He’s also frustrated with the B’s December slump.

Inconsistency is to blame, in Neely’s opinion, as he continually stressed the team’s need for a change in their mind-set to affect their play on the ice. That’s what the team will be looking for heading into their final game before Christmas — a shift in their attack out on the ice.

Hearing the words from Neely and putting them into action are two different things altogether, but the president and Bruins legend is hoping his words light a fire under the team. But will they?

It may not be all Cam’s doing, but a new mind-set seems to have set in over the team following a “spirited” practice on Tuesday. The players, coaches and front office members alike are all recognizing the funk and are working hard to get out of it.

Pleasing the man upstairs, however, is one of the most important tasks for a team. Neely is the man who holds the reins over much of the club’s inner elements, and if he’s not happy, one can guarantee he’ll do something about it. He didn’t earn the nickname “Bam Bam Cam” for nothing.

Words, however, can only do so much, and it’s the players who have to ultimately push themselves to the next level. According to center Marc Savard, the Bruins’ fate is in the players’ hands, and it’s up to them to pull out of this rut.
