Oilers Octane Taking League By Storm As Oilers Announce First-Ever Canadian NHL Cheer Team Step aside, Taylor Hall, there are 19 women in Edmonton who are the new talk of the town in Oil Country.

The Oilers announced the Oilers Octane team — "the first-ever Canadian NHL Cheer Team," according to Oilers.nhl.com.

Despite negative reaction from the Oilers community, which even petitioned and protested that the team to refrain from launching the squad back in October, the team was assembled by coaches Mailie Harris, Amber-Leigh Polowich and Margeaux Morin.
