If you thought the Patriots did their best work in the snow on game days, get a load of what they accomplished prior to Wednesday’s practice.
Pats head coach Bill Belichick said everyone “fought through the snow” and made it to Gillette Stadium without incident. They shunned aside a blizzard that shackled New England and moved forward with their preparations for the Jets.
“They’re all here,” Belichick said. “We have some experienced northeastern drivers on our team.”
Quarterback Tom Brady was impressed with everyone’s timing, saying the team showed up promptly for Wednesday’s 8 a.m. meeting. As it turned out, flying cars were not necessary.
“It was tough conditions for everyone,” Brady said. “But everyone’s here, ready to work and get ready for the biggest game of the year.”
The grounds crew couldn’t clear off the outside practice field in time, so the Patriots called an audible and moved inside to the Dana-Farber Field House, which was disappointing for linebacker Rob Ninkovich, who cracked that he was looking forward to making a snow angel or two.
Apparently, that was the only setback Wednesday for the Patriots, who are 11-0 all-time in snow games in Foxboro.
“Rough weather, but we made it,” running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis said. “Everything is all good.”
