Blue Jays Trade Mike Napoli to Rangers for Reliever Frank Francisco

Before it even really began, the Mike Napoli era has ended in Toronto.

The Blue Jays traded the recently acquired catcher/first baseman to Texas on Tuesday in exchange for right-handed reliever Frank Francisco. The Jays acquired Napoli last week when they shipped Vernon Wells and his cumbersome contract to the Angels for Napoli and Juan Rivera.

In Francisco, Toronto picks up an established bullpen arm. The 31-year-old should add some depth to the back end of John Farrell's bullpen. Francisco had a 3.76 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 52 2/3 innings of work last season for the Rangers.
