The man with the golden voice is getting help.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ted Williams, the homeless Ohio man who became famous after a YouTube clip went viral, is heading to rehab to help curb a resurfacing drinking problem. Williams has been getting voiceover job offers from the NFL Network and Cleveland Cavaliers, among other companies, since the clip exploded on the Web.

Williams was detained by Los Angeles police when a disturbance call was made on Monday night at a Hollywood hotel. The recovering alcoholic went on Dr. Phil to discuss the incident and explained that a heated argument between him and his daughter, Janey, prompted the call.

“He’s consumed at least a bottle of Grey Goose a night, at least,” Janey told Entertainment Tonight. That’s not including the Coronas he orders. That’s not including Budweisers he orders. That’s not including the other alcohol, the wines. He drinks — heavily.”

Neither Williams nor his daughter was arrested for the incident, but he was confronted about his drinking problem on Dr. Phil. After the show, Dr. Phil (Phil McGraw) issued a statement saying that Williams is heading to rehab.

“If Ted is ever going to get better, he’s got to be honest with himself and admit he’s addicted to drugs and alcohol,” the statement said. “I’ve told him it’s not going to be easy, and it’s going to take a lot of hard work. It might be a long journey for him, but this is a big step in the right direction.”
