For the fourth time in his career, Tom Brady has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Month.

The Patriots announced on Wednesday that Brady received the award for his dominant play in December. Brady led the Pats to a 4-0 record in the month, posting back-to-back 300-yard games against the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears.

Through December, Brady led the league with 11 touchdown passes and attempted 136 of his record 335 consecutive passes without an interception.

The Player of the Month honor is the first for the Patriots this season and the first for Brady since October of 2009. He also earned the award in back-to-back months in the 2007 season, receiving the honor in October and November.

Though it's the first Player of the Month award for the Patriots, they have pulled in four Player of the Week honors this season. Brady was named the Offensive Player of the Week on two separate occasions, following the consecutive victories over the Lions and the Jets. Dan Connolly earned the Special Teams Player of the Week award after his astonishing 71-yard return against the Packers, and James Sanders was named Defensive Player of the Week after New England's Week 10 victory over the Steelers.

Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month, and Jets kick returner Brad Smith was named the Special Teams Player of the Month for December/January.
