Tiki Barber played all 10 years of his NFL career with the New York Giants. However, he will not be returning to the G-Men now that he's filed paperwork to come out of retirement.

The Giants need to activate Barber off its retired list in order to complete his transition out of retirement, but the team has announced that they will release their former running back once the action is complete, FoxSports.com reports.

"We wish Tiki nothing but the best, and when we are able to make the transaction, we will release him from our reserve/retired list," the Giants' statement read.

Barber shouldn't have much trouble finding a new place to land, however, as his agent Mark Lepselter said he's already generated some interest from other teams across the league.

"We filed papers for Tiki to come out of retirement" Lepselter told FOX Sports. "We filed papers with the commissioner's office and the Giants. And there are interested parties."

Barber said he was inspired to return after watching his twin brother, Ronde, continue to enjoy playing the game in his mid-30s (they will turn 36 in April). Ronde is heading into his 15th season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"After seeing my brother still have fun at our age, it reignited the fire. I'm really looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can get back to the level of where I was," Barber said in the exclusive interview. "I started working out again recently. It kind of shocked myself. I still had a lot of the strength I had before. I'm really looking forward to making a return."
