Allen Iverson had arguably the best crossover move in the game during his 17-year NBA career. Now, Dwyane Wade uses one of the most effective moves — nearly as good as his crossover idol — by leaning his body one way and then going in the other direction.

Wade and Iverson talked about their inspiration for the crossover, as well as its unique style for each player, in a video for The New York Times produced by Bedal Saget and Xaquín G.V.  Basketball greats Penny Hardaway and Pearl Washington commented on the crossover as well.

Hardaway used to dribble through the legs to set up his move, while Washington used his smaller stature to stay low and blow by defenders.

The move continues to evolve as each player adds his own style to beat defenders to the basket and finish, after leaving his defender going the wrong way.
