Jose Iglesias, Lars Anderson Among Pawtucket Red Sox Getting Votes for Triple-A All-Star Game Jose Iglesias and Lars Anderson are getting some national recognition for their performances with the Pawtucket Red Sox this season.

Iglesias, Pawtucket’s slick-fielding shortop, is currently the leading vote-getter at his position on the 2011 Triple-A All-Star Game ballot, while Anderson is second at his position to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs’ Jeff Larish.

Other PawSox positional players in the top five at their positions include catcher Michael McKenry and second baseman Tony Thomas. Daniel Nava is currently in eighth place on the outfielders’ ballot.

Starting pitcher Andrew Miller and relief pitcher Tony Pena also are in the top 10 for their respective positions.

Iglesias, ranked No. 52 on the 2011 Baseball America Top 100 Prospects list and regarded as one of the best shortstop prospects in baseball, is the top vote-getter at his position despite struggling so far this season at the plate for Pawtucket. Iglesias is batting .238 with a .281 on-base percentage and a .245 slugging percentage. He has not homered and has 12 RBIs. However, at 21, his bat is still developing, and he has continued to dazzle with his glove at shortstop, committing only seven errors in 175 chances for the PawSox.

Anderson is another top prospect for the Red Sox and has put together a great 2011 season. Anderson is hitting .274 with four homers, 13 doubles and 31 RBIs. He also has an impressive .393 on-base percentage and has collected 41 walks compared to only 49 strikeouts.

The 2011 Triple-A All-Star Game will be played in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 13. Voting ends on June 24.
