Mike Duco Joins Canucks After Calling Out Daniel and Henrik Sedin on Twitter for Diving

During the Stanley Cup Final, Panthers winger Mike Duco watched the Bruins and Canucks battle for hockey’s top prize and wondered what many puckheads were probably thinking: Why do Daniel and Henrik Sedin dive so much?

So Duco jumped on his Twitter feed and let the world know how he felt about the twins’ antics.

“Sick of watching the Sedins dive and lay on the ice.” is a tweet from Duco during Game 3 in Boston, which the Bruins won 8-1.

Duco seemed to spend much of the Final rooting for the Bruins, tweeting during Game 3, “Hope Horton is okay… Lets go Bruins!” and chastising Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo during Boston’s 5-2 win in Game 6, “HA… solid night Luongo.”

Things may get uncomfortable for Duco when he returns to training camp this September. In an ironic twist of fate, the Canucks traded for the 24-year-old Duco in exchange for Sergei Shirokov. That means Duco will now be sharing a locker room with the Sedin twins and the much-maligned Luongo.

The 5-foot-10 Duco took a preemptive step towards befriending his new teammates, removing some of the anti-Canucks tweets and declaring his excitement to be in Vancouver’s organization.

“i guess im learning too only say positive things on twitter. sorry everyone i am truly happy too be apart of this organization.”

Duco’s poor grammar aside, we’ll see how the Sedins and Luongo take to their new winger.
