Report: Antonio Cromartie Being Linked to Raiders, Could Be Replacement for Nnamadi Asomugha

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie, known to teammates as "Cro," is one of the Jets' top priorities now that free agency has begun.

But Cro might be flying the nest.

The 27-year-old cornerback is no stranger to moving around — he has fathered at least nine children with eight different women across six different states.

On Tuesday, ESPN.com's Rich Cimini tweeted that there are "Rumors of Antonio Cromartie to Oakland."

The Raiders will most likely have to replace Nnamdi Asomugha, who, like Cromartie, is free agent. Most believe Asomugha will sign elsewhere, leaving a spot open for Cromartie.

However, Cimini also commented on the unlikely nature of this rumor: "That would be a neat trick, considering Radiers are [$10 million] over cap."

While Cromartie might not go to the Raiders, the likelihood of his leaving the Jets — who most likely will prioritize their two receivers, Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes, above Cromartie — means that Cro's time with Gang Green is limited.
