It hasn't been that long since Shannon Stone's tragic death, but the Texas Rangers are already trying to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

The team announced that they will be installing new safety measures at Rangers Ballpark, which includes raising all railings to 42 inches, ESPN.com reports. Some railings reach that height, while others don't — including the railing Stone fell over, which stands at 32 inches.

"The rail is the first measure of prevention," Rangers executive vice president of ballpark and event operations Rob Matwick said. "We're trying to prevent falls. That's why we feel like the 42 elevation is a solid solution. We might look at another solution, but we're looking at the rails. Whatever we do, it can't just be a stop-gap measure. It has to stand the weight of a person falling. We don't want to put a temporary solution down there that can't guarantee a person's safety."

The Rangers will also have signs instructing fans not to lean against railings, as well as ballpark personnel patrolling the stands in left field.

Rangers president Nolan Ryan said the fans' safety is the team's top priority, which is why they are making the park safer.
