The on-going debate of where Alberto Aquilani would play this season has finally come to an end.

Liverpool agreed on a deal, which cannot be completed until the medical is, to send Aquilani to AC Milan on loan, a deal that could turn long-term after the season ends, Liverpool announced on their website.

Before the season started, Aquilani's name was linked in rumors to a few different clubs.

The midfielder did not appear in any games for Liverpool this season, but in 28 total appearances he scored twice.

"I want to pay tribute to the way Alberto has conducted himself during these discussions. Throughout the entire process, his only desire has been to play football and he has put this ahead of any other considerations and at personal cost to himself. We wish him well for the season ahead," Damien Comolli said in a statement on Liverpool's website.
