With 23 goals in 39 appearances for Manchester City last season, Carlos Tevez is widely regarded as one of the best players to come out of South America and star in the Premier League.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard thinks highly enough of teammate Luis Suarez that he could be as good as Tevez — and better.

"Luis is special," Gerrard said. "His movement, his touch, his awareness and the way he takes his goals is fantastic."

Suarez is entering his second season with the Reds after tallying four goals in 13 appearances for Liverpool last year. The 24-year-old also scored three goals for Uruguay in the 2010 World Cup and was named the best player in the 2011 Copa America tournament for leading Uruguay to its 15th title by scoring four goals, including two in the semifinal match against Peru and one in the final against Paraguay.

"I think he is sensational and it's great to play with him," said Gerrard, entering his 14th season at Anfield. "He's a midfielder's dream and he is only going to get better this season."
