NFL Teams, Fans Honor Victims of 9/11 With Pregame Ceremonies, Special Apparel During Opening Weekend (Photos) With the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, it was an emotional weekend for everyone. And while Sunday also marked the beginning of the NFL season, the victims of 9/11 were very much in the hearts and minds of everyone in attendance during the weekend’s games.

NFL teams and their fans honored those who died that tragic day, as well as those who helped during 9/11 and those who continue to protect and serve the country today, by showing a great deal of support at each game. There were pregame ceremonies, and fans and players decked themselves out in patriotic attire in order to pay homage.

While 9/11 will forever live on as one of the most horrific days in America’s history, it also brought the country together. And on Sunday, the country came together once again in order to pay its respects.
