Ozzie Guillen Says His Actions Motivated by Money, Says He Can't Buy Boats or Cars With World Series Rings Chicago White Sox fans have probably had it up to here by now with Ozzie Guillen's never-ending candor, but that doesn't mean sports fans everywhere else can't enjoy his speak first, think second way of doing business.

Guillen, always a tremendous quote when speaking with the media, recently spoke with Chicago Sun-Times writer Rick Morrissey. The now ex-White Sox manager made it real clear what was motivating him, and it had less to do with Chicago's win-loss record than it did with the bottom line on Guillen's bank account.

"With the rings, I can't do [expletive] with that," Guillen told Morrissey last week. "But with money, I can go buy me a new boat, I can go buy me a car, I can dress my wife the way I want to dress her, I can go to Spain. With the ring, I can to United Airlines and say, 'Hello, I won the 2005 championship. Can you fly me to Spain?' Hell no.

"Money is everything besides health. Money is next to that. A lot of people say, 'Oh, love.' They don't know what love means. I guarantee you, if you raise a girl where I grew up and you've got no money and she loves you, but you put the same girl with a guy who's got a lot of money, I'll bet she'll love the guy with money. That's the way it is. I love you, but I'm hungry."

"I do work in this job for money. I don't work for nothing. Money. That's it. The ring? [Expletive] the ring. I don't even wear my [expletive] rings. I don't."

Guillen was granted a release from his managerial post in Chicago late Monday night. He did have an option for the 2012 season that the White Sox had picked up, but he met with owner Jerry Reinsdorf on Monday and it was decided that he would manage his final game Monday.

Reports indicate that the fiery manager is likely going to become the next manager of the Florida Marlins, a move that has been rumored for some time now.

The Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday that the Marlins are going to offer Guillen a four-year deal worth $16 million.

In short, enough money to buy a boat.
