Liverpool's "Tactics 4 Families" initiative was in New York City on Tuesday after being nominated for "Sport Team of the Year."

The program's delegation, headed by project manager Mark Chester, was presented at the Beyond Sport United conference held at Yankee Stadium, according to LFC.tv.

"It's fantastic for the Tactics 4 Families program," Chester told LFC.tv. "It's confirmation that we're doing the right thing.

"It's a pioneering project and it's great to get that recognized by an organization that is as prestigious as Beyond Sport," he added. "Just to be shortlisted is a great achievement."

Tactics 4 Families uses core Liverpool FC beliefs to help children between the ages of 4 to 6 develop into strong family members. The program will be hoping to raise significant funds from audience members, with the maximum amount for each presented program limited to $10,000.

Chester and Tactics 4 Families were joined in competition by Enterprise City, a Manchester City project, among other programs and the winner will be announced in Cape Town this December.
