Peyton Manning's injury has led to seemingly endless speculation of its extent and how much time the Colts quarterback will miss. The plot has thickened.

Jake Query, a radio host for 1260 WNDE in Indianapolis, reported on Wednesday, just hours after the Colts announced that Manning would not play in the team's season opener against the Houston Texans, that he's heard from a source that Manning will be out for the season.

"…A source I consider reliable told me he is out for the season. I do believe that the actual diagnosis is still being determined," Query tweeted.

Query said on his radio show, Query & Schultz, that he's heard that Manning had a third procedure on Sunday or Monday, which would mean he would be out for the season — or at least "indefinitely."

The Colts have not yet responded to the rumors, so for now, that's all they are. The rumors are at least worth noting, though, since Query says he trusts the source and the Colts' success this season relies heavily — if not solely — on Manning's health.
