Report: Terrell Owens Rushed to Hospital After 911 Called From Former Receiver's Los Angeles Home Terrell Owens has had a rough time getting back into the NFL, and his journey to the field took a detour to the hospital last week, according to a report by TMZ.

The website said that someone called 911 last Thursday night, and ambulances shortly thereafter to take Owens to a nearby hospital. Police also arrived on scene, according to the report.

Owens told ESPN.com last week that he expected to return to the NFL by the end of the month. The 37-year-old had a highly productive season in 2010, catching 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games for the Bengals. However, he suffered a knee injury in December and was not signed by any team in the offseason.

He's been in the news for a medical emergency before, for an apparent overdose of a pain killer. Owens later denied that it was a suicide attempt, as it was originally reported.
