The prospect of hosting a quarterfinal FA Cup game may have given Liverpool players a boost on Sunday. The Reds will host Stoke City in the quarterfinal round of the soccer world's longest-running cup competition.

The draw was held before the Reds took the field for their fifth round game against Brighton Hove and Albion. They routed their opponents from the Championship, winning 6-1 at Anfield.

The quarterfinal meeting with Stoke City will take place on the weekend of March 17 or 18 at Anfield.

It will be the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season. Stoke won the Premier League contest on Sept. 10. The Reds knocked the Potters out of the Carling Cup one month later. The two teams also played to a scoreless draw in a Jan. 14 Premier League meeting.

Winning that game will see the Reds head to Wembley Stadium in London for the second time this season. The semifinal and final rounds take place at England's national stadium. LFC faces Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final next Sunday.
