Report: Liverpool FC to Play Toronto FC at Rogers Centre in Preseason Friendly

Liverpool FC will visit the home of some of its most fervent North American supporters this summer.

The Reds will descend on Toronto, Canada as part of their preseason tour. They will face Toronto FC in a friendly at the Rogers Centre on July 21, according to the Toronto Star.

"The 18-time English Premier League champions will face TFC in a match of the World Football Challenge, an annual exhibition tournament held in North America," the Star reports.

"Tickets for the game will go on sale soon, with TFC season-seat holders and supporters being offered them at a special, discounted price.

"The game, which is being organized by the Rogers Centre, not TFC, will no doubt have huge appeal to Toronto's large Liverpool supporter network."

If confirmed, the Toronto game will be the first of three preseason games the Reds will play in the new world. They will travel to Boston (home of owners Fenway Sports Group) and play AS Roma on July 25 at historic Fenway Park. The tour concludes with a meeting with Premier League rival Tottenham Hotspur, which takes place in Baltimore, Md. on July 28.
