draftstreetNESN.com and Draftstreet.com challenged readers to a one-week fantasy baseball challenge, with $300 in prize money available. Thanks to big days from Joey Votto and Anibal Sanchez, one NESN.com visitor is going home with the big prize.

A reader with the username “gobosox00” barely beat out the competition by earning 50.5 points. The second-place user, “McLovin1215” had 49.85 points, while the third-place finisher, “Ahpitboss,” had 47.65.

Votto, who was only selected by six percent of users in his tier, went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored, good for 8.75 points for gobosox00. Likewise, Sanchez had a dominant day on the mound, throwing a complete-game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts, earning a whopping 18 points for his owners. The winning team was rounded out by Tommy Milone, Paul Goldschmidt, Evan Longoria, Nelson Cruz and a pair of Cubans: Kendrys Morales and Yoenis Cespedes.

NESN.com’s team finished in 73rd place, about the middle of the pack, with 28.2 points. Mike Trout (7.75 points) and Kris Medlen (7.2) put up solid numbers, but both Pablo Sandoval and Nick Swisher finished with negative point totals, hurting the cause.
