Coaches, Players, Fans Throw Down as Brawl Breaks Out at High School Football Game (Video)

High school football coaches are supposed to set a good example for their players. Two coaches at rival Indianapolis-area high schools couldn’t quite keep their cool on Friday night, though.

A brawl broke out on the field during a game between Fort Wayne and Arsenal Tech high schools on Friday. The melee started when a Fort Wayne player unnecessarily took down a Tech running back as he ran out of bounds. The illegal tackle caused a benches-clearing brawl, which even incited a couple of coaches enough to get involved, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Fans ran down from the stands to get involved, which prompted some hilarious pleas from the public address announcer over the loudspeaker. Referees tried to settle the situation as well, throwing flags almost incessantly in an attempt to stop the madness.

Police even arrived on the scene to help calm things down. The fight caused officials to call the game, which Tech was leading 24-6 late in the third quarter.
