Red Sox To Wear ‘Boston’ Home Uniforms Again For Patriots’ Day

jonny gomesThe Boston Red Sox will honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings once again this Patriots’ Day.

The Red Sox will bring back their “Boston” home uniforms — the ones worn during the team’s first home game following the tragedy last April — for their game against the Baltimore Orioles on April 21, according to Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe.

In keeping with tradition, the game will begin at 11:05 a.m., shortly after the start of the 118th Boston Marathon.

The Red Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals in a classic while wearing the special jerseys last season. Daniel Nava’s three-run home run in the eighth inning proved to be the difference in the 4-3 Boston victory.

The Sox open their regular-season schedule Monday, March 31, in Baltimore.
