Henry Owens, Deven Marrero Among Red Sox’s Non-Roster Spring Training Invitees

The Boston Red Sox will be bringing 17 non-roster invitees to Fort Myers, Fla., this spring, the team announced Wednesday.

Among them are left-handed pitching prospect Henry Owens, shortstop prospect Deven Marrero, fleet-footed outfielder Quintin Berry and utility man Jemile Weeks. The Red Sox invited nine pitchers, three catchers, four infielders and one outfielder.

Owens and Marrero were invited last season, also.

All non-roster invitees are players who either are veterans signed to minor league contracts or prospects within Boston’s farm system.
