Back to the FutureOK, movie buffs. The big day finally has arrived.

Marty McFly and Doc Brown — played by Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, respectively — traveled to the future in the 1989 film “Back to the Future Part II.” The date they arrived at: Oct. 21, 2015.

Obviously, a lot has changed in the 26 years since the movie was released. In some instances, the film’s portrayal of the future turned out to be fairly accurate (we have video calling and hands-free gaming, for example). In other instances, it was way off (cars still can’t fly, unfortunately).

But it’s definitely interesting to reflect on the last quarter of a century in comparison to what the flick predicted. And it’s even more interesting to envision what the next 26 years will bring.

So, let’s do the latter with an emphasis on sports. Here’s what we envision the sports world looking like in 2041 — the equivalent of predicting the 2015 landscape in 1989.
