J.J. Watt Slam Dunks, Reminds Everyone He’s Still A Good Athlete (Video)

J.J. Watt’s rehab appears to be going just fine.

The Houston Texans defensive end underwent surgery for, uh, something (see below) after the season, and if this video is any indication, he’s doing OK.

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday tweeted a video of him trying out a different sport. Watt showed off his basketball skills, and while his ball-handling is a little suspect and he might be a little clunky, there’s no denying this white man certainly can jump.

It actually might be a bigger story if Watt couldn’t dunk. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, and at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2011, he recorded a 37-inch vertical jump.

Houston Rockets rookie Sam Dekker — who, like Watt, is a University of Wisconsin alum — was impressed enough to challenge the Texans star to a game of 1-on-1. Assuming Dekker could keep Watt out of the paint, we have a pretty good idea of how that might go.

Watt also tried to clear up his injury issues. Whatever you do, don’t call his injury a sports hernia.

Glad that’s settled.
