FOXBORO, Mass. — The  New England Patriots had a new player wearing No. 14 at practice Friday.

The jersey number changed hands between Griff Whalen, who was waived Thursday, and Michael Floyd, who was claimed from the Arizona Cardinals in a corresponding move. Floyd made it from Arizona to New England and participated in his first practice Friday morning before the Patriots plan to leave for Denver to take on the Broncos in Week 15.

Head coach Bill Belichick said Floyd would travel with the team to Denver.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola (ankle) was the lone absence at practice, which was held in the indoor Empower Field House.
