With the acquisitions of midfielders Charlie Adams and Jordan Henderson, it's been expected that Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani would be moved. We've already learned of Italian club Fiorentina's interest in the 27-year-old. Now, it seems another Italian club may be looking to acquire the player.

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani confirmed his club's interest in Aquilani, telling the Gazzetta Dello Sport, "We could talk about Aquilani. … He's a midfielder with the characteristics that we are looking for, so, like with other players in his role, he could be of interest."

Galliani also denied the team's interest in Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

"Balotelli? If someone comes he will be a left inside midfielder, not a striker," Galliani said.

During a July match between Liverpool and Malaysian XI in which Aquilani was playing, Liverpool owner John Henry expressed his support for the player, tweeting "One missing link last year: Acquilani. Put the ball near Ngog and the goal and it's going in. Too much talk of them somewhere else."

Aquilani scored two goals in 33 appearances last season for Juventus FC, who had acquired the midfielder on loan from Liverpool.
