Yep, Ray Allen can still hit monstrous, clutch shots.
Allen showed Saturday night that wearing a Heat jersey won't do a thing to his ability to come through down the stretch, nailing a 3-pointer from the corner in the closing seconds to help the Heat hold off the Nuggets for a win at home.
But it wasn't just Allen's big 3 that was so impressive. Allen also drew a foul on the shot and calmly sunk the ensuing free throw, giving Miami a cushion and sealing the win over the newly dangerous Nuggets.
In a game where Chris Bosh (40 points), LeBron James (20 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds) and Dwyane Wade (14 points) were doing their usual Big Three stuff, Allen showed just how stacked the Heat really are. He scored 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including a 6-for-10 line from beyond the arc.
On the final 3-pointer, Allen and James pulled off a perfect sequence, making it look like they've been playing together for years.
