It’s hard to think Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick could beam brighter with pride than they did Thursday night.

The New England Patriots owner and head coach were thrilled with the way their team played in the Week 3 win over the Houston Texans. During postgame celebrations in the locker room at Gillette Stadium, Belichick and Kraft praised Patriots players for their poise, toughness and execution, while reserving special acclaim for rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett, according to WEEI’s Ryan Hannable.

“Congrats men,” Belichick told the assembled players. “I’ll tell you what, that’s everything we wanted to do, you did it — 60 minutes. Showed a lot of mental toughness. A lot of discipline just keep doing it over and over again. We talked about that running game breaking open in the fourth quarter — that was a hell of a run LG (LeGarrette Blount). Great job. Defense, you can’t do any better than that. No points. Big plays in the kicking game.”

Belichick then presented Brissett with the game ball and congratulated assistant quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski for the work he has done.

“We got another one,” Belichick said. “Where is (Jacoby Brissett)? Where’s Jerry (Schuplinski)? Great job.”

Kraft made it a point to tell Brissett how happy he was with his performance.

“That was awesome,” Kraft told Brissett. “That was great. Very proud. You stayed cool.”

The Patriots released a video of postgame scenes in the locker room. See the satisfied looks on the New England bosses’ faces and know they’re already planning for the Week 4 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
