Report: Burress' Suspension Expected to Be at Least Eight Games Plaxico Burress is free to sign with any team but could receive at least an eight-game suspension, sources told The New York Daily News.

The suspension is thought to be at least for eight games, though it could be for the entire season.

Burress' trial for felony gun possession is not expected to begin until the spring. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell won't have to make any official ruling unless a team signs him or shows interest in doing so.

Burress was indicted on Aug. 3 for felony possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor.

Goodell has already levied suspensions on Michael Vick, which is expected to be about six games, and Donte Stallworth, which is a season-long suspension.
