Bill Belichick Predictably Mum on Logan Mankins Trade Talks

FOXBORO, Mass. — Predictably, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick made it clear Tuesday morning he would not get into the Logan Mankins situation.

On Monday, Mankins told multiple outlets he was unhappy with contract negotiations and wants to be traded, and Belichick was asked about Mankins' motives prior to New England's initial mandatory minicamp practice.

"Right now, we're just focusing on coaching the players that are here," Belichick said, using his typical response for such questions. "Get things done, hopefully have a good practice today, and that’s where our emphasis is."

Belichick was asked several more Mankins-related questions before the 10-minute news conference wrapped up, but the rest of his answers followed a similar tune.

"All contract situations are between the player and the club," Belichick said.
