Whether or not former NFL coach Jon Gruden was ever on the University of Miami's wish list for a new football coach, it's beginning to look like Gruden will not be the next coach of the Hurricanes regardless.

According to ESPN's Joe Schad, a source told him that there is "zero chance" that Gruden will accept the vacant coaching position at Miami. The 'Canes fired previous head coach Randy Shannon over the weekend following a 7-5 season.

Gruden's current employer, ESPN, is also under the impression that Gruden is not leaving for Miami or any other job.

"My feeling is Jon is in Year 2 of a long-term contract, and we expect Jon to be on 'Monday Night Football' doing what he's been doing for a long time to come," ESPN executive Norby Williamson said during a conference call on Wednesday.
