The other was taken Saturday afternoon from the front steps of the hotel in Fort Myers that I will be calling home for the next several weeks. Can you tell which is which?

Indeed, the flight down was loaded with both NESN and Red Sox personnel, each of us eager to get started with what figures to be an eventful season for the organization. Pitchers and catchers report Sunday and position players are due in by Thursday, although most of the roster has already been in town for days. They are obviously eager as well.

The first formal workout for pitchers and catchers is Tuesday. The entire squad works out for the first time together on Saturday.

I and the rest of the NESN team will be on site in Fort Myers for everything through the end of spring training next month. Check NESN.com each day for coverage of the workouts and eventually the games, as well as daily features, news and notes, and photos and videos from the field.

Feel free to follow my updates on Twitter and never hesitate to drop me a line either there or in the mailbag. I will answer questions each Tuesday throughout the season.

And don’t worry about the warm weather. It’s coming your way.
