Reports: Jack McKeon to Return as Marlins Manager The Florida Marlins are hoping to capture the magic of 2003 all over again.

The Marlins, mired in last place in the NL East, are expected to hire Jack McKeon as their manager on Monday, according to multiple reports. McKeon would replace Edwin Rodriguez, who resigned Sunday.

McKeon, 80, was hired as the Marlins manager in 2003 after Jeff Torborg led them to a 16-22 start. The Marlins went on the World Series in six games over the New York Yankees.

The Marlins, who lost 17 of their first 18 games in June, are 32-40, 12 1/2 games back in the division.

McKeon would become the oldest active manager in baseball and the second-oldest ever. Connie Mack managed his final season with the Philadelphia Athletics when he was 87 years old.
