Marlins outfielder Logan Morrison has a devoted following on Twitter. In fact, when Morison was benched and then sent down in the middle of a pretty respectable season, many speculated it was thanks in part to his inability to keep some of his opinions to himself — particularly on Twitter.
So, when the Marlins misspelled the wildly popular Morrison's name on the big screen in the outfield at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, you had to think that one of LoMo's 69,000 Twitter followers would catch the gaffe. And one did.
Morrison retweeted the picture that was sent to him by one of his followers (@joseaespinoza) displaying the misspelling of "Morrison" as "Morrsion" on the videoboard.
"Is it a good thing or a bad thing when they spell your name wrong on the Jumbotron at your home stadium?" Morrison said along with tweeting out the photo.
It's the latest in a bizarre chain of events involving Morrison and the Marlins. The Aug. demotion actually led Morrison to file a grievance against the Marlins, claiming that he was wrongfully sent down.
"I'm doing this because I'm standing up for what's right," Morrison told ESPN.com of the grievance. "If I thought it was because of my performance on the field, then I wouldn't be filing a grievance."
It's beginning to look more and more like Morrison's future with the Fish is nearing an end. That's probably good news for Morrison considering the fact that he'll no longer have to play for the Marlins and won't have to wear uniforms that could have this logo on them.
