Report: Bruce Grobbelaar Claims New Striker 'Will Be Arriving Soon' at LiverpoolBruce Grobbelaar claims Liverpool is closing in on signing a striker during the January transfer window. The former LFC goalkeeper told talkSPORT that the club is pursuing two strikers, and he expects at least one to move to Anfield soon.

"I know that [LFC manager Kenny Dalglish is] looking at a South American striker who's playing in Holland," Grobbelaar said. "I know that he's quite close in getting another striker. I'm not going to be the one to actually tell you, but I'm sure that a striker will be arriving soon."

Liverpool has been understandably tight-lipped about its transfer targets. Last week, Dalglish even said the club wasn't pursuing any transfer targets in the current window.

But Liverpool has struggled to finish the chances its fluid approach play creates, and experts and supporters alike have called on the Reds to add some firepower. Grobbelaar insists help is on the way, but refused to name the players in the interview.

"There are two and I'm not gonna say who it is," he said.

Grobbelaar spent 14 years as Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper, making 626 appearances between 1981-94. He was part of teams that won six First Division (pre-Premier League era) titles, three FA Cups and three League Cups (present-day Carling Cup).
