Havard Nordtveit's role in Borussia Monchengladbach's shock Bundesliga title challenge has won him plenty of admirers. Among them is Liverpool FC, who sent scouts to watch him on a number of occasions this season, according to SkySports.

Nordtveit, 21, plays a holding role in the midfield at the German club. He has made 22 appearances for the third-place club. His progression over the last 18 months has earned him not only a place on Norway's national team, but also a potential move to a bigger club.

"I have not heard anything concrete about it from Borussia," SkySports reports Nordtveit told Nettavisen. "If it is just rumours or not I do not know."

"Borussia want me to focus 100 percent on the job I have now. It is best we look at it after the season. I would like to continue my progress next year."

Nordtveit played for Arsenal from 2007-10, but never made the jump from the reserve to first-team. After loan spells at Salamanca, Lillestrom and Nurnberg, he made a permanent move to Monchengladbach in January 2011. The Norwegian went straight into the starting lineup, and has blossomed under the guidance of manager Lucien Favre.

But the ambitious player sees his German experience as a stepping stone, and hopes to one day return to English soccer.

"Premier League is a great league and it's every boy's dream to play there," Nordtveit said. "I said that I will play there once in a lifetime. Whether it happens in one year, five years or ten years. It is always flattering to be linked to clubs like this [Liverpool], even if it's just rumours. It is positive and shows that I'm doing something right."

His contract expires in June 2013, and Monchengladbach will likely see a number of clubs bid for his services.
