If you have young children who want to play hockey, then the Boston Bruins have a new program for you.

The team announced their “Little Bruins” Learn To Play Hockey program Thursday, which is available to all children ages five through eight and will be hosted at six different hockey rinks in Massachusetts.

“I have said many times that we are stewards of the game of hockey here in New England, and the ‘Little Bruins’ program aligns with that mission,” Bruins principal Charlie Jacobs said in a press release. “It is vitally important that we grow our game at the youth level, and I couldn’t be prouder that the Bruins are spearheading this initiative.”

The program costs just $100 per child, which pays for head-to-toe CCM equipment including skates, a professional fitting at MonkeySports Superstore in Norwood, Mass., and four weeks of on-ice instruction from Massachusetts Hockey coaches. The program begins in October.

Friendly’s, Mass Hockey, CCM and MonkeySports are partnering with the Bruins for the program.

Registration for the “Little Bruins” program begins on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. ET on www.bostonbruins.com/littlebruins and is available on a first come, first served basis to the first 500 participants.
