Tom Coughlin’s lengthy tenure as New York Giants head coach ended last week, but he might not be leaving the NFC East.

The Philadelphia Eagles would like to interview Coughlin for their open head coaching job, sources toldĀ ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The position became available when Philly fired Chip Kelly a few days prior to Week 17.

Coughlin spent 12 seasons with the Giants and tallied a 102-90 regular-season record. He went 8-3 in the NFL playoffs, including a pair of Super Bowl victories over the New England Patriots.

Before Coughlin’sĀ Giants tenure, heĀ led the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars in the first eight years of their existence, a run that included four playoff appearance and two AFC Championship Game berths.

The Eagles have never won the Super Bowl and finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 7-9 record. They’ve made only one playoff appearance in the last five seasons after reaching the postseason nine times from 2000 through 2010.
