The New England Patriots are cheaters. Their Super Bowl victory is tarnished. They can’t be trusted.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Lost in the Deflategate fallout from January’s AFC Championship Game is the fact the Patriots straight-up embarrassed the Indianapolis Colts 45-7 en route to a fourth Super Bowl championship.

Well, lost on everyone but the Colts.

“No excuses,” Colts coach Chuck Pagano told Sports Illustrated’s Peter King. “We got our asses kicked. Period. End of story. None of us here will ever forget that day, that final score. We got a damn artery gushing and no sutures to stop the bleeding. You never forget that.”

Colts owner Jim Irsay made sure his team won’t ever forget it, either, by hanging a banner from Lucas Oil Stadium commemorating the fact at least the team tried hard. Or something.

New England has outscored Indy 189-73 in four meetings since Andrew Luck took over as the Colts’ quarterback.
