Do You Like the Red Sox' Early Start on Marathon Monday? They played late on Easter Sunday's opener that left many fans frowning despite the comeback win over the Yankees. Monday, the Red Sox will host the Rays at 11 a.m. in a tradition only the city of Boston could boast.

Morning baseball in the middle of a New England April tends to make the locals a little nutty — and that's just when they get the pizza in their system.

Marathon Monday is an annual rite of spring for Fenway followers, despite the morning usually being marred by rain and sometimes even a little snow. The majority of Bay Staters receive the day off to enjoy this one-of-a-kind holiday by cheering on a Boston Marathoner if they're not one of the expected 26,000 actually running it. Sox fans can not only check out day baseball at America's Most Beloved Ballpark, they can waltz just a few blocks from the Monster to see the brave runners finish up the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to shower them with adult beverages, cheers and an occasional unwarranted obscenity.

While many players have reason to dislike the early start, what do the fans think? Besides the added traffic and parking headaches already associated with the Fenway area, there's plenty of reason for a commuter (especially those of us unfortunate enough to be working Monday) to flip off a jay-walker or speed demon more than than standard five times.
