A Triple Crown won’t be at stake when the Belmont Stakes takes place June 6 in New York, but there are plenty of talented horses in the race’s field to make it worth watching.
The current favorite is Exaggerator, who won the Preakness Stakes last weekend, ending Nyquist’s Triple Crown bid. Exaggerator ran a great race through a wet, muddy track at Pimlico, and he has the speed and stamina to conquer the longest of the three Triple Crown races.
Helping Exaggerator’s chances at the Belmont is the absence of Nyquist, who will miss the race because of a health issue.
