Aaron Nesmith was more productive in his first season with the Indiana Pacers than either his two campaigns with the Boston Celtics, and it helped the 2020 first-rounder land a respectable second contract.

Nesmith, who was selected No. 14 overall by the Celtics in the 2020 NBA Draft, was traded to Indiana before the 2022-23 campaign. The 24-year-old on Monday agreed to a three-year contract extension from the Pacers worth $33 million, as first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Vanderbilt product averaged 10.1 points per game on 42.7% from the field last season with the Pacers. He averaged just shy of 25 minutes per game after being limited to 14 and 11 minutes per contest in his first two campaigns with the Celtics. Nesmith averaged 4.7 and 3.8 points in those two seasons, respectively.

The 6-foot-5 guard was traded to Indiana in the deal that helped Boston acquire Malcolm Brogdon. Nesmith was one of five players to be moved from Boston to Indiana.
