The Boston Red Sox returned to Fenway Park on Friday night to face the Toronto Blue Jays.

After losing another home opener following a road trip, the Red Sox are now three games behind the Blue Jays for the American League wild-card spot, making these next few games more than crucial for playoff potential.

The New York Yankees are keeping Boston company in the AL wild card standings, also three games behind Toronto.
